For players looking for a more competitive level of softball than the typical rec experience, while still allowing for flexibility to participate in additional sports/activities throughout the year. The NC Rams 14U Town Travel program offers an increased level of skill development and an opportunity to face more distant competition throughout Connecticut and occasionally in neighboring states.

Town Travel offers a year-round team environment starting with fall ball. Winter clinics provide players additional training and conditioning in the off-season. The spring season is designed to accommodate high school requirements for our 9th graders while still providing the 8th graders with travel team training in addition to their participation in the Juniors rec program. Once the high school season ends, our robust summer schedule begins and runs through the last weekend of July.

The Town Travel program focuses on building skills, leadership and relationships amongst players with the understanding that many of them will continue to play together in high school. The roster for this team could be more than 12, depending on availability of players throughout the year.

Large Scale Events:

  • Tournaments: 5 (1 fall, 1 spring, 3 summer) **1 may require overnight travel
  • Jamborees: 1 (fall)

Small Scale Events (practices/friendlies):

  • Fall (Sept – early Nov): 2-3 events per week, no rec participation required
  • Winter (mid-Jan – mid-March): 2 events per week, plus pitcher/catcher clinics
  • Spring (mid-March through mid-June): 4 events per week for 8th grade players, will include rec Juniors participation plus weekly travel practices and possible friendlies depending on player availability; 9th graders that participate on the high school team will play exclusively for that program during the spring season
  • Summer (mid June – end of July): 2-3 weekday events, plus tournaments or friendlies on weekends
